Beverly and Joe Pevehouse
“Drawing oil out of the ground has earned you [Joe] a prestigious and rewarding career. Even more impressive is all that you have ‘put back’ in your community…” |
Born and raised in the “oil patch” life, Beverly and Joe from very young ages knew and witnessed what hard work and determination of spirit could warrant. Meeting one another in Denver City, TX at the “Shell Camp” their fathers both worked within marked the beginning of a beautiful life together. Their incredible story exemplifies what loyalty, leadership, risk-taking, humility and humor embody.
In 1948, Joe graduated from Texas Tech University with a geology degree and in 1960 founded Adobe Oil Company. In 1970, Adobe Oil & Gas Corporation went public and found the Midland based company rapidly expanding in the United States and Internationally. Adobe Resources Corporation was formed when the company merged with Madison Resources Corporation in 1985. From there, “Joe’s exceptional leadership and knowledge of the industry was recognized by the Texas Legislature when he was honored as a prominent trailblazer in the Texas oil and gas industry.” (Publication from the Texas Tech University System)
A multitude of charitable organizations have been beneficiaries of Beverly’s efforts to better the Midland landscape, other communities around Texas, and even nationwide. The recipient of numerous accolades herself, Beverly is well known for her compassion…to her family, friends, and those less fortunate. Beverly’s devout faith and contagious smile lead her charge and willingness to support the causes dear to her heart. Family, hard work, service and philanthropy were the order of the day in the Pevehouse household. Above all though, the gift and love of family has sustained Beverly in every event of life.
